I'm currently working on my online shop. In the meantime, my products are available in person at events. To learn more about what I do, my creative process, the markets I'll be attending, the new products and collections being launched, and updates on a possible online store, join the De Marco community on one of these platforms and stay up to date with my email announcements!
What does “De Marco” mean?
De Marco is my brand! In French, it means “From Marco”. My full name is Marc-Olivier, but that was a bit long for a logo, so I decided to put olive leaves in the O to shorten it a little! ;)
About
How did it all start?
I've always wanted to work with my hands, but my fear of failure with my first creations held me back for a long time.
During the pandemic lockdown, with few people to see and a lot of time on my hands, I finally convinced myself to give it a try. Guess what? I can CONFIRM that my first creations were not my best! Looking back, though, I realized that when you start something, what matters is to focus on recognizing progress, discoveries and lessons learned rather than judging the result right away. With that mindset, I was able to refine my craft and find handmade products that interested me and that pleased the people I gave them to.
Why I do this work (Why SELL?)
At first, I made artisanal products to offer something unique to my family and friends on special occasions. Over time, thanks to the supportive feedback I received, I decided to invest more in my craft, and I started dreaming of starting my own business. Creating De Marco was the first step of a beautiful, growing adventure, and I'm very happy to feel free in my work and to meet lots of people to talk, learn and grow with.
What I want to build as a brand
De Marco was born from a desire to create, to step out of my comfort zone and to connect with people. Beyond the products, I want to share a message of hope and possibility: to show that our limits are often the ones we impose on ourselves, and that failures are necessary and should be celebrated, as they let us learn and understand how to succeed.
My ambition is to build a profitable business that proves you can succeed without being driven only by money: by treating people well, by creating a community where everyone finds their place, and by giving back to those who need it.
