Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 6, 2026
De Marco is a small artisan business in Montreal. This policy explains what personal information is collected on demarcoatelier.ca, what it is used for, who it is shared with and how to exercise your rights, in accordance with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).
Person in charge of personal information
Marc-Olivier Lamothe, founder of De Marco, is responsible for the protection of personal information. For any question, request or complaint: contact@demarcoatelier.ca.
Information collected
Here is the information collected when you subscribe to email announcements (the "Shop" window or the subscription page):
- your email address;
- the date and time of your subscription.
Website statistics and cookies
With your consent, the website uses Google Analytics 4 to measure its traffic and improve it: number of visits and page views, visit length and engagement (including bounce rate), where visitors come from (search engine, social network, link from another site), device and browser type, and approximate region. These statistics are aggregated: they do not allow De Marco to identify you and are not used for advertising.
Google Analytics only places cookies on your device if you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change your mind at any time with the "Manage cookies" link at the bottom of the page.
The cookies used are:
- cc_cookie (essential): remembers your cookie choice, for 6 months;
- _ga and _ga_RTH8KKXMF5 (Google Analytics, only if you accept): tell visits apart, for 13 months.
Your browser also stores your theme choice (light or dark), on your device only. This information is not sent to De Marco.
How your information is used
Your information is only used to:
- send you the announcements you subscribed to: markets, new products, collections, promotions and the online shop launch;
- remove your address from the list if you unsubscribe;
- keep proof that you agreed to receive these emails, as required by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL);
- understand how the website is used and improve it, if you accept website statistics.
Your information is never sold or rented.
Services used
Like most websites, demarcoatelier.ca relies on a few external services. They may process some information outside Quebec, including in the European Union and the United States:
- Brevo (France): manages the subscriber list and the sending of email announcements;
- Google Analytics: website statistics, if you accept them;
- Hostinger: hosting of the website and of De Marco's mailbox.
Retention
Your email address is kept as long as you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe, it is removed from the mailing list within 10 business days at most, as required by law.
De Marco also keeps a record of your consent (the date and time of your subscription). It may be kept after you unsubscribe, only as long as needed to show, if ever checked, that you did agree to receive these emails.
Website statistics are kept for 14 months in Google Analytics.
Your rights
At any time, you can:
- withdraw your consent by unsubscribing, with the link at the bottom of every email or, for cookies, with the "Manage cookies" link;
- ask to access the information De Marco holds about you;
- ask for it to be corrected or deleted.
Write to contact@demarcoatelier.ca. You will receive an answer within 30 days. You can also contact the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
Security and incidents
The website is served over HTTPS and only the information strictly needed is collected. If a privacy incident presents a risk of serious harm, the people concerned and the Commission d'accès à l'information will be notified.
Changes
This policy may be updated, for example when the online shop opens. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version.
